Fundada nos anos 90, a Escola Monteiro é uma instituição educacional familiar, que evoluiu exponencialmente ao longo dos anos, seja em relação a sua infraestrutura, como em sua proposta pedagógica.
A Escola Monteiro tem suas origens em Portugal, com o Professor da Universidade de Coimbra, Sr. José Esteves Carramenha, que ao chegar ao Brasil ajudou a fundar a Escola dos Jesuítas de Itú. O Profº José Esteves formou seu filho, Sr. José Eduardo Carramenha, que também construiu uma carreira de sucesso na área da Educação, tendo trabalhado como Diretor de Grandes Escolas por mais de 40 anos e tendo sido Diretor da Escola Monteiro por mais de 10 anos.
Atualmente a Direção da Escola Monteiro continua com a família e o atual Diretor Geral Sr. Renato Campana Carramenha, juntamente com sua esposa Fátima e filha Beatriz, que também fazem parte da equipe da Direção da Escola Monteiro. Juntos trouxeram uma proposta pedagógica diferenciada para a instituição, mantendo o compromisso de estar em constante evolução.
