O COLÉGIO PASSIONISTA SANTA MARIA, em Praia Grande, foi fundado em janeiro de 1986 e faz parte dos Colégios da Rede Passionista de Educação, da Congregação das Irmãs Passionistas de São Paulo da Cruz, com matriz em São Paulo e sede na Itália.
A missão das Irmãs é de reconduzir a pessoa ao coração de Cristo Crucificado e Ressuscitado, por meio da Educação.
Temos plena convicção que o Colégio consolidou-se em Praia Grande e na região metropolitana da Baixada Santista pela qualidade de ensino, seriedade em relação aos diferentes procedimentos adotados, responsabilidade social, compromisso com a vida, enfim, sólida tradição.
Atualmente contamos com as turmas de Educação Infantil ao Ensino Médio. Visando ainda uma vida plena e mais saudável colocamos à disposição dos alunos um leque de atividades extracurriculares, respeitando as diferentes faixas etárias e interesses individuais, tais como, futsal, karatê, dança, música e robótica educacional.
É importante reafirmar também o nosso carisma Passionista: Paixão incondicional de Cristo pela humanidade, que levou o seu amor até as últimas consequências, deixando-nos um legado eterno de amor e crença na possibilidade dos homens de transformação contínua, conversão e redenção diante do Sagrado que está revelado em cada um de nossos irmãos. Paixão que transcende o sofrimento da cruz para perpetuar a ressurreição, o Cristo vivo no meio de nós, fortalecendo a nossa vida, estendendo as Suas mãos numa atitude plena de doação e amor.
Considerando esse alicerce, a nossa Proposta Pedagógica acredita na constante renovação do ser humano e o contempla em todas as suas dimensões: cognitiva, física, emocional e espiritual. O currículo escolar vai ao encontro das exigências do mundo moderno. E, contempla ainda os pilares propostos pela UNESCO, preparando os educandos para “aprender a ser, a conhecer, a fazer e a conviver”, frente às adversidades de um mundo seletista e globalizado.
