O curso Anglo foi fundado em São Paulo pouco depois da Revolução de 1932, pelos professores Simão Faiguenboim, Abram Bloch e Emílio Gabriades.
Em 1975, a estrutura sediada em São Paulo iniciou sua expansão pelo Brasil afora. O primeiro passo dessa trajetória se deu em São José dos Campos, onde os professores Simão e Gabriades iniciaram o Anglo São José. Em 1978, o professor Fidefico Higuchi e seus sócios, os professores Anísio Spani, Saulo Daolio e Oscar Gonçalves Júnior, assumiram a administração pedagógica e financeira da unidade de São José dos Campos. Atualmente, apenas as unidades de São José e de Taubaté são mantidas pelo Colégio Cassiano Ricardo.
Em 1982, iniciou-se o Colégio Cassiano Ricardo de Ensino Médio e, cinco anos mais tarde, a unidade de Educação Infantil e Ensino Fundamental. Para atender melhor a demanda da região, o Colégio Cassiano Ricardo ainda montou as unidades de Taubaté (Pré-vestibular em 1988 e Ensino Médio em 1994) e de Jacareí (Pré-Vestibular e Ensino Médio em 1995) e, em 1999, inaugurou as novas instalações do Ensino Médio de São José dos Campos. A partir de 2008, o Colégio Cassiano Ricardo passou a ser administrado por três mantenedores: Anísio Spani, Saulo Daolio e Oscar Gonçalves Júnior.
A partir de 2010, a Unidade de Taubaté passa a ser administrada por Anisio Spani e seus filhos Andrea e Alexandre. A missão de ensinar continua e, graças à qualidade do sistema de ensino e ao conhecimento dos professores, sempre atentos às tendências educacionais da atualidade, o Colégio Cassiano Ricardo permanece na vanguarda, sempre buscando responder aos anseios e necessidades de uma sociedade de informação e em rápida transformação
